When is ‘The People v. O.J

Though viewers and critics largely gave positive reviews to Tuesday night’s The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, for victim Ron Goldman’s sister Kim, the premiere was a painful experience. Fortunately, The Advocate reveals that this series is a part of an American Crime Story could be about Hurricane Katrina and its devastating aftermath.

When asked about how she sees the new series that once again puts the trial of the century back in the spotlight, Clark said, “For me it’s reliving a nightmare”. A retired American football player/football commentator/actor, Orenthal “OJ” Simpson (Cuba Gooding) is accused of murdering his former wife Nicole Brown Simpson (Kelly Dowdle) and her friend, Ronald Goldman (Jake Koeppl). The 2.0 tops the premiere of the first installment of “American Horror Story” in 2011 (1.6) and is the highest for an FX series premiere since “The Shield” opened with a 2.4 in March 2002. And, since some 13-year-old girls were known to have Tiger Beat posters on their walls at the time, creator Ryan Murphy demanded Kim’s room follow suit. The storyline is based on Jeffrey Toobin’s book “Run of His Life” which narrates the story of Simpson’s 1995 murder trial.

Although Clark thought the series was a decent attempt at recreating the trial, she was unsure of whether or not she would watch the remaining episodes, saying, “I don’t know if I can make myself do it. I don’t know if I’ll survive it. It’s just so terrible”.

“I’m sure he’ll watch it if they put the channel on”, Scotto said. “And they don’t show that in this, and that really sucks”.

The excellent cast includes John Travolta as Robert Shapiro; David Schwimmer is Robert Kardashian; and Cuba Gooding, Jr.as Simpson. “I think it was a smart decision because I think he adds some great piece of sizzle to it”, Murphy said.
