When Taraji P Henson mistook Coldplay for Maroon 5
Splash News Henson won a Golden Globe in January for her role as the family matriach on “Empire”.
‘#maroon5 is life to me!!!’ Taraji raved on social media as she shared a clip of the Super Bowl halftime show, adding ‘#Superbowl50’ and ‘#HappyCamper’ and some lipstick emojis.
Unfortunately for the 45-year-old, she was watching a performance from Coldplay, who was later joined by Mark Ronson, Bruno Mars and Beyoncé. Regardless, the actress realized her mistake and laughed about it. “I don’t know if you know how it goes down in the suites”, she explained.
After fans had taken to the comments section to point out the mistake, Henson deleted the Instagram post and then addressed the embarrassing moment with a tweet. Now, either she was totally shading Coldplay by calling them Maroon 5 (does that mean Adam Levine and Chris Martin are interchangeable to her?) or she made an honest mistake.
Instagram Taraji P. Henson posted on both Twitter and Instagram her love of Maroon 5 at Super Bowl 50.
