Where to find free Thanksgiving meals
Baskets will be distributed from 9:00 a.m.to noon on Thanksgiving day at the church.
WHEAT, meanwhile, which Executive Director Rose Majestic said was “in good shape” for Thanksgiving, was packing Thanksgiving food bags Monday night with the help of a local church group. Member Jack Godsey said there is no place he would rather spend his holiday.
Church members donated their time to cook dishes like turkey, corn, sweet potatoes, mac & cheese and several different desserts. “I can’t believe you brought this to me, ‘” Northside secretary Karen Henry said.
“Basically went to some focus neighborhoods where we know there are foods of people needing foods, and we handed out flyers”.

Miller and the volunteers began preparing for the dinner on Tuesday, cooking over 350 pounds of turkey they’ve also packaged 270 plates of food, to be delivered directly to people’s homes.
This is the 15 year the church has delivered pre-cooked Thanksgiving meals. The meals were then given to individuals or families for free Sunday evening.
Mowen said this year the restaurant is expecting to serve about 275 to 300 meals.
“Everything is made from scratch”, Batchelor-Glader said.

“I think that was a turning point for me”, Holt said.
This year, the church also got a $1300 grant from the Eau Claire Community Foundation. Thirty-seven years ago God just said it’s more to church than having Sunday morning service, taking up money, and paying bills.
