Which ‘Gilmore Girls’ Cast Members Are Returning For The Netflix Revival?
Variety reported on Friday that Netflix confirmed a Gilmore Girls revival. Fast forward to the present date and Netflix has now officially confirmed the good news.
Although the title of the reboot has not yet been disclosed, the show is set to wrap up the series as Sherman-Palladino originally intended.
Hawaiian-born Graham posted news of the show’s return on her official Twitter account. It can be remembered that the two left in 2006, before the show’s final season, which went to become one of the most controversial TV finales of all time.
Netflix did not reveal any other details about the “Gilmore Girls” revival – including whether it would be called “Gilmore Girls”.
“The fans had to want it badly enough that they didn’t stop asking”, Graham said of the long-awaited Gilmore Girls reboot in an interview with TVLine. It will also be very bittersweet when the show returns, because we will be without Edward Herrman (Richard), who passed away in 2014.
Stars Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson and Kelly Bishop will return for the Netflix episodes, which will be written and directed by series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, both executive producers, according to Netflix.
Produced by Dorothy Parker Drank Here Productions in association with Warner Bros. News. What’s so great about this revival story is that the nostalgia and fans really made it happen.
While there have been conflicting reports regarding the structure of the WB classic’s new episodes, we are happy to say we now know which of the original cast members are already signed on for the revival! See you on set, Amy Sherman-Palladino, Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel. Melissa McCarthy is a huge movie star now, so her availability is a big question mark. “It would have to be honored in a certain way and I think that if you look around, we would all jump in and do it”.
