Which Kobe Bryant will fans remember?
Los Angeles Lakers fans are expressing their sentiments towards star player Kobe Bryant after he announced that he will be retiring at the end of this season.
The 37-year-old won gold medals at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and at the 2012 games in London.
“I can’t love you obsessively for much longer”, Bryant wrote of basketball. The poem spoke on how Kobe’s heart can’t take the pounding and his mind can’t handle the grind of the game anymore, and that his body understands it is time for saying goodbye.
The Lakers lost again, 107-103 to the Pacers, coming up short after trimming a 22-point deficit to one point on a Bryant three-pointer with 12 seconds left.

Prices for the Lakers’ last game have almost tripled to $1,388.60 in the 14 hours since Bryant announced his retirement, according to ticket price tracker TiqIQ. Because I knew that he was getting better and I was like, ‘Man, if you take a day off, he’s going to take advantage of it. You can not take a day off. You can not take a day off.’ And I used him for my motivation throughout my career because I always knew that he was working on something. The line “we knew you before the world did” hits home on an emotional level that really ties everything together. The good and the bad.
“We’ve always competed against one another and we always wanted to dethrone each other”, James said.
Last season, he played 35 games but increasingly suffered soreness in his knees, feet and back, prompting Lakers head coach Byron Scott to cut back significantly on Bryant’s playing time, while altering his on-court role.
This week I asked a few Bucks players what they’ll remember most about Bryant, and – for those who’ve had the chance – what it was like to play against one of the greatest players in National Basketball Association history.
“He’s certainly struggled to play at a tempo and pace that I think younger players and the game is playing today”.
“He’s nuts about it”, Lions receiver Lance Moore said about Slay’s infatuation with Bryant. “His objective is to finish out this season and play”. “Again, I’m just happy for Kobe”.
“I didn’t hold up my end of the bargain in 2009 for the fans, for us, to meet in the Finals”, James said, referring to the 2009 campaign when the Cavs had a 66-16 record but were upset by the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference finals.
