White House says no indication of malicious actors in NYSE problems
“That’s to say nothing of the Senate Republican who has saluted that candidate”.
Nobody better understands what Republicans are up to than President Obama, and his White House has sternly called their politics of racial hate.
It was Earnest’s opening salvo in the White House press briefing, prepared in advance and not prompted by any reporter’s question.
“We’ve raised some significant concerns about the frequency with which Congress chooses to just kick the can down the road when it comes to funding our infrastructure”, said White House spokesman Josh Earnest.
Going one step further, Earnest also resurrected criticism surrounding House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.), who landed in hot water when initially landed his position for addressing a group with racist leadership in 2002 and using the opportunity to reportedly describe himself as “David Duke without the baggage”.
Earnest said it was “good news and progress” that the South Carolina legislature voted to take the Confederate flag down from the state Capitol grounds. National security officials say they also did not believe that incident was malicious in nature, and saw no link to the NYSE technical problems. But he said the fact that Speaker John Boehner, who doesn’t think the flag should be displayed at federal cemeteries, hasn’t been successful in persuading his fellow Republicans of his view is “notable”. He said Calvert’s amendment was “entirely consistent” with the Obama administration’s policy that bans the sale and display of the Confederate flag on National Park Service properties – except when it is in a historical or educational context. “These childish attacks are completely dishonest, and beneath the dignity of the office of the presidency”.
The Treasury Department and the Securities and Exchange Commission are continuing to monitor the situation and Obama asked for updates throughout the day, Earnest said.
“Concise coverage of everything I wish I had hours to read about”.
