White House seeks more solar power in poor areas

The plant is an important step in encouraging and promoting the use of renewable energy resources in the Oman. The aim of the training courses is to provide industry professionals, PV engineers and individuals wishing to further their career in the solar industry, hands-on training on step-by-step design and installation procedure of grid connected and off grid PV systems in accordance with worldwide best practices to narrow the skills gap in the sector. The administration also plans to install 300 megawatts of renewable power in federally subsidized housing.
Abdul Wahab bin Abdullah Al Hinai, director of licences and legal affairs at the AER, said that the licence for this pilot project is the first of its kind.
Tuesday’s initiative is the latest in a growing series of actions intended to demonstrate to the worldwide community that Obama remains focused on climate change, ahead of a critical set of negotiations for a global warming deal in Paris at the end of the year.
Following through on Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s commitment to expand access to renewable energy, the PSC is working to establish an innovative program that would empower low-income families, renters and millions of other New Yorkers to choose solar.
The move also suggests a pivot for Obama from large-scale solar farms to rooftop solar.
