White House: Trump was not target of any investigation
That left the rest of the Trump administration with a lot of explaining to do.
“How low has President Obama gone to tapp my phones during the very sacred election process”.
Mr. Trump has not taken a question from reporters in the five days since he called the wiretapping allegation a “fact” and called Mr. Obama a “bad or sick guy”. Trump tweeted from Mar-a-Lago at 4:02 a.m.
But Trump clearly recognized the magnitude of it.
That isn’t a reference to the relationship between my former boss, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump.
In one of the Tweets, Trump said the alleged wiretapping took place in his Trump Tower building in NY, but there was “nothing found”.
“It’s a very odd phenomenon, we get along”, Trump said.
Graham and Whitehouse have both been critical of the Trump team’s alleged ties to Russian Federation, and have pledged to run an investigation of their own from their perch on the judiciary committee panel.
Q: My second question on communications has to do with the President’s assertion about the wiretapping.
But he’s apparently furious with President Trump for his claims that he had Trump Tower wiretapped. He’s been known to use tweets to divert attention from news stories he doesn’t want the public and the media to focus on. “The concern that the president has and why he asks the Senate and House intelligence committees to look into this is to get to the bottom of what may or may not have occurred during the 2016 election”.
Press secretary Sean Spicer only went as far as saying Trump had access to “very troubling” reports. He even said in the tweets that it would constitute a “Nixon/Watergate”-esque scandal. I don’t think there’s any doubt that Obama loyalists inside the administration and outside are giving Donald Trump a lot of grief and a lot of problems”.
Otherwise, Graham says the FISA court, named after the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, could issue a warrant, but he doubts that was the case since the FISA courts would only cover foreign agents, not American citizens.
Senior adviser Kellyanne Conway indicates that Trump had top-secret evidence to justify his allegation. The raw (unverified) intelligence was spread like confetti, far and wide not only across the U.S. government to people without security clearances and members of Congress but also shared with foreign governments. “That’s the way it should be for presidents”. We’re not going to allow that to happen. I’ll ask that and I’ll get back to you on that.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions declines to comment on the matter. Trump has had his people (some of them, anyway) in place at the Department of Justice for a month now. The president’s cheering section believed him, of course.
He said: “In this country, if you are not in favour of war over Syria, then you must be a traitor; you must be in the service of Russian intelligence”.
A TOP White House adviser has challenged Federal Bureau of Investigation chief James Comey to reveal what “he knows” about Donald Trump’s claims that Obama ordered spies to tap his phone.
