Who Is Hook’s Father On ‘Once Upon a Time’?
“[Hook] does it for the greater good, even though he was the architect of all the problems”, O’Donoghue said. “He does it for love, and I think that makes him feel like he is, in some way, a hero, and proving himself to Emma and to the people of Storybrooke”. As the actor revealed, “he’s sticking around, but in a completely different way and quite shocking”. After all of the madness that’s happened this season, I’m thinking someone is probably going to be on the brink of death.
O’Donoghue said that Hook is simply giving in to his darker personality, just like when Rumpelstiltskin gave in to his evil nature when he was once a Dark One.
As for the major twist, Emma has discovered that the dagger was not gone and that it was in the shop of Mr. Gold so that the darkness from the Excalibur can be channeled to himself, making him the ultimate Dark One. “So she’s back into true savior Emma form in terms of magic pretty quickly”. The weird thing about finding out that Gold is the Dark One again is that she’s furious at him, but at the same time, she now has a way to Hook. As she told her family, she knew that someone would have to die in order for her to get Hook back.
Hook, of course, had other plans, wielding Excalibur with every intention to carry out his revenge; when it came down to the wire, though, he didn’t have the heart to use it as he’d intended. Here is ABC’s official synopsis for Episode 11, “Swan Song”. Will she be able to bring Hook back to the way he was or resort to slaying him for everyone’s good? She does so by forcing him to face the demons from his past.
Once Upon A Time returns to ABC on March 6. “There are forces here beyond your understanding”, says Regina’s mother.
In the Season 5 finale of Once Upon a Time, “Swan Song”, while the resurrected Dark Ones are looking for a living soul for sacrifice, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) battles Hook (Colin O’Donoghue).
