Who’s the Boss? Actor Says He’s HIV Positive
Pintauro waited to disclose his HIV status, though, because it was “a big deal” for him.
“Who’s The Boss” star Danny Pintauro revealed in an interview that he is HIV-positive. He was diagnosed with the disease in 2003. He was diagnosed when he was living in New York.

Daniel now manages a restaurant and lives in Las Vegas with his husband, whom he married in April 2014.
In that 1999 interview, Pintauro also responded to the oft-discussed schoolyard speculation that he and/or Jonathan, the character he played on “Who’s the Boss?”, was gay.
As reported by IMDb, the critically acclaimed sitcom won numerous awards, including a Golden Globe and a Primetime Emmy Award.
Fortunately, Pintauro’s fears didn’t stop him from finding happiness. With the exception of a few minor roles, the young man’s acting career essentially ended in the late 1990s.
(1984-92), came out as gay in 1997 after the National Enquirer threatened to publish the news.
The experimentation, he said, led to his illness. “It was just regular blood work. So unfortunately those lifestyles have gotten intertwined, and that’s exactly how I got into it in the first place”, he continued.
“I would say don’t do the drugs for sure”.
“I discovered in that relationship that there was more I wanted to explore sexually. That moment of, ‘Oh God, I’m now going to have to have that conversation every time I meet someone.'” And he did: “My husband, our first date, we hadn’t even kissed, it was the first thing I told him”, Pintauro said. “I truly thought I was being safe, and obviously, I wasn’t”. The 39-year-old former child actor confirmed he’s HIV positive.
