Who Will Start At QB For The Bills This Week?
Despite an MCL injury, the Bills quarterback could still start Sunday when Buffalo hosts the undefeated Bengals.
The Bills are 3-2 by the way, and may be playing with backup quarterback E.J. Manuel Sunday.
“To me, he’s been an impressive guy”, Lewis said. I stand by that assessment, but Clay deserves mention here. He’s a little better, but it’s not enough of a disparity to risk further injury. “I want to be able to play at a high level”. We knew he would be.
That’s the revisionist company line, anyway.
Now there is a new breed of wide outs in the league, led by Julio Jones, Antonio Brown and AJ Green that appear like they are very workmanlike in the way they handle their business.
Ryan admitted he knows the crticism the club faced for the Cassel trade, but reiterated that move was possible because of Manuel’s development.
I didn’t buy it then, and I don’t buy it now. Ryan didn’t say when or which ankle Taylor hurt.
Ryan provided the update before the team’s practice on Wednesday. It was laughable. This isn’t an August exhibition against a disinterested Steelers team.
“Five games doesn’t do anything for you”, Lewis said.
“He was a starter past year”. Cundiff replaced Jordan Gay as the team’s kickoff specialist, while veteran Dan Carpenter handled field-goal and extra-point duties. While it seems like typical WR diva talk, in this case, Watkins is 100 percent right in his thinking. Who can blame him?
“It still holds true that he only works one side of the field; he doesn’t see the whole field with all of the route progressions and stuff”, the scout said. “Obviously, an injured quarterback, they’re not going to run with much anyway if Tyrod does play”. If he somehow doesn’t play, I’d have to say Charles Clay.
That makes it easier for the Bengals to prepare for either player. The knee is getting better. I feel like this is a different situation.
“I’ve had to bear a lot of (criticism)”, Dalton said. Taylor was limited this week by a knee injury, though he did take a few reps with the first-team offense. Running Back LeSean McCoy was not expected to see game action this week, but an Instagram post hinting at a “countdown” now has fans thinking otherwise. Check into Buffalo Rumblings on Sunday morning for the latest injury updates before setting your rosters for Week 6. Taylor is risky because of his legs.
This is their chance.
So for the purposes of this analysis, I’m going to avoid the quarterback position. Ryan expects to make the playoffs. First, the ability of the Bengals’ offense to prove that they can win a tough road matchup. Taylor is undersized and a runner, so you had to figure it would happen sooner or later.
Bengals practice squad running back James Wilder Jr. played one season with Manuel at Florida State.
