Why are the entire Coronation Street cast packed into Nick’s Bistro?

Coronation Street live episodes have, in the past, featured some of the show’s biggest storylines, plot twists and disasters, and traditionally, a live Corrie broadcast tends to leave someone, or several people, very dead…

Although exact plotlines for the one-off episode are yet to be revealed, it is thought that it will be focusing on the Platt family’s desperation to get evil drug dealer, Callum Logan, off their backs as he continues to bribe them for £20,000.

But what else do we know so far?

Rehearsals have begun for Coronation Street’s dramatic live episode as bosses confirmed it will air on September 23.

Of that, Sean Ward, who of course plays the role of Callum, teased, “Something will change in the live episode that will have an effect on everyone for the next few months”.

The cast are going to have a fortnight to prepare for the live episode before they have to perform in front of the nation in real time.

Roy Cropper’s 60th birthday party (appropriate), and Lloyd and Andrea’s leaving party will also be played out live, with Tim Metcalfe set to discover that his fianceé, Sally Webster, has snogged her ex-hubby Kevin.
