Why Did Ryan Reynolds Send Hugh Jackman Cupcakes?
If this really is Jackman riding Wolverine off into the sunset, I kind of feel sorry for the sunset.
On March 3, Hugh Jackman’s final film as Wolverine will release in theaters. It’s nice Stewart gets to show his acting skills after spending the majority of the “X-Men” films just zipping around in a wheelchair. The film establishes that Wolverine (and later X-23) are able to resist Xavier’s telepathic attacks where other people can’t, so if it’s just him and the Professor on the boat, Wolverine can care for him until the end knowing that no-one will get hurt. It’s the movie that Wolverine fans have been wanting from the beginning.
“Never has the reluctant hero and exhausted mentor dynamic been better than Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman’s two-man act”.
Seriously, don’t complain if you keep reading ahead. “You’re better than this”. “So, I told [Hugh] that same evening, ‘I’m done too”.
Logan’s box-office win might also change the rules of the game as far as superhero movies are concerned. From the very first scene of the movie, we’re introduced to the real brutality of Wolverine’s power through bloody and graphic fight scenes. Those who are fans of comic books should recognize what X-Men story arc we are dealing with here just based on Logan’s looks in the trailer alone.
Jackman is leaving behind a superhero movie performance template that has already been emulated for years. celebrityinsider.org
“Logan” is said to be the last film of Jackman as the Adamantium-bearing mutant.
On the eve of release, Logan screenwriter Scott Frank has shed new light on the film’s pre-production process, including how one particular incarnation of James Mangold’s R-rated thriller nearly made room for Wolverine’s sibling and sworn enemy, Sabretooth.
This is FOX’s tricky way of saying that some of what happened in the previous films still happened in the current X-Men timeline (for example, Logan proved that the climax of X-Men featuring the Statue of Liberty still happened), whereas some other parts did not happen.
His mortal body in X-Men was a testament to that lack of assurance in the franchise. He thinks it’s bullsh*t that one of the nurses from the lab saw in one of the X-Men comic books, but Laura (who FYI doesn’t speak until the movie is almost over) insists on going there. The similarity between these two films is quite uncanny, now that I think about it.
So, while there may not be an after-credits scene in Logan, fans of the Wolverine series may still be able to see more of the story; just with a different person in the lead role.
Despite this, Jackman does a good job in wrapping up the trilogy of Wolverine films.
