Why Hillary Clinton could rebound after New Hampshire
“What happened in Flint is immoral”, Clinton said at the House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church.
Former President Bill Clinton levied an extended criticism of Bernie Sanders at a campaign stop in which he took issue with “sexist” attacks against his wife.
When another questioner asked why Sanders had so much momentum, Clinton said she was pleased he had attracted so many young people to his campaign but made the case that her policy proposals on health care and college affordability were superior. But Sanders, who as Vermont senator is no stranger to the state, has built a strong advantage here and hopes to push back against Clinton’s argument that she would be the most electable Democrat in the November election.
The publication noted the similarity to Clinton’s 2008 campaign – when she almost canned several top officials, including her campaign manager, before she unexpectedly beat then-Sen.
“Bill really should avoid any overt, reductive mockery of the appeal of Sanders’ broad critique of our political system, which risks alienating Sanders supporters who are getting engaged in the political process, many no doubt for the first time in their lives”, he wrote.
But Albright’s were not the only remarks to provoke blowback.
Steinem has since apologized, writing that she “misspoke” and that “whether they gravitate to Bernie or Hillary, young women are activist and feminist in greater numbers than ever before”.
“I have no idea what they’re talking about or who they are talking to”, she told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow in an interview set to air later Tuesday.
CONCORD, N.H. (AP) With victory seemingly out of reach in New Hampshire, Hillary Clinton is looking ahead to the next round of voting as she tries to counter the rising challenge from Bernie Sanders in the Democratic presidential race. We will do everything we can and I think we have tried. But just 11 percent of women and men aged 17 to 24 and 17 percent of those aged 25 to 29 caucused for her, according to an NBC News exit poll.
For some of the many still undecided voters, particularly middle-aged and older women, that message could have sway. The implication, we suppose, is that people with two X chromosomes must vote for Hillary Clinton, or risk hellfire and damnation.
The mother of a family dining at a Manchester Dunkin’ Donuts told Clinton her youngest daughter did not want her to win so she could be the first female president instead.
“The online campaign is, ‘anybody who doesn’t agree with me is a tool of the establishment, ‘” he said.
The former president went on, “When you’re making a revolution, you can’t be too careful about the facts”, drawing laughs.
