Why Renée Zellweger quit Hollywood for six years – and where she went
Her work with the organisation led to her visiting remote areas of countries including Thailand, Cambodia and Liberia, and added to her appreciation of life.
Renne Zellweger has shared the reason why she took a break from making movies and why she chose to come back. It was because of the way I was living my life, and I don’t think you can be good in a creative medium if you aren’t grateful for the opportunity to participate. It turns out she missed the process too much.
Renee – who famously put on about 30 pounds for the original 2001 film, Bridget Jones’s Diary, and again three years later for the sequel, The Edge Of Reason – has revealed that she had meant to put on weight once more for the role, but that director Sharon Maguire had talked her out of it.
“Bridget Jones” star Renee Zellweger has slammed speculation about her plastic surgery and pointed out that men never come under such critical observations.
“I think travelling off the beaten path is a good idea for anybody because it’s essential for understanding not just the rest of the world but yourself”.
She also spoke her love of Bridget saying, “I love this character and all the people involved”. She and Patrick are in town to promote the third installment of the Bridget Jones movies, in which serial singleton Bridget falls pregnant shortly before her 43 birthday – but there’s a hitch; she can only be fifty percent sure of who the baby’s father is. There are a million of them, all day, every day.
AFTER a string of hit films in the late ’90s and early noughties including Jerry Maguire, Chicago and Bridget Jones’s Diary, Renée Zellweger turned her back on Hollywood in 2010. I guess you would call them, real experiences’. “I started to miss it (acting) and I felt ready”.
Now Renee has revealed she stopped appearing in films because the appeal of making movies had begun to fade. “It was an excellent excuse to go back”.
