Wife of Dolphins’ Grimes rips Tannehill
Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who left the lockerroom after Sunday’s 18-12 loss to Indianapolis with a bandage on his left leg and a noticeable limp, is considered day-to-day, interim coach Dan Campbell said Monday.
Salguero wrote about his interactions with Miko Grimes on Sunday night and said the team has had to meet with Brent Grimes “at least five times” about curbing her social media behavior, and they’re not happy about this newest incident.
She tweeted that no legitimate coach will come to Miami as long as Tannehill is the quarterback, and he’s the reason for their poor season.
On the radio this morning, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel’s Omar Kelly-who’s on Grimes’s good side, as the two used to host a show together-said that “Miko doesn’t do anything that Brent doesn’t give her the OK to”.
Now for the more pressing question: Can Tannehill and Brent Grimes co-exist in that locker room moving forward?
“My Column: how many people does Ryan Tannehill have to get fired before you realize he’s the problem”, Grimes tweeted. “That’s never been an issue”.
Miko made headlines in September after she was filmed being arrested at a Dolphins game against the Buffalo Bills.
The rant is one more sign this season can’t end soon enough for the Dolphins (5-10).
“I’ve never sensed there’s been any animosity or that there’s been any type of disconnect between those two guys”, Campbell said.
They’re also concerned that her views reflect Brent Grimes’ own views, because, you know, a woman can’t have her own opinions about the sportsball. Absolutely not, but I do believe he’s not a difference-maker. “She has that right”.
Miko also tweeted that her husband should’ve been named defensive MVP of the Pro Bowl, an award that went to J.J. Since 2012 he has been sacked more than any other quarterback, including 44 times this year to tie for the league lead, but hasn’t missed a start in his career.
Jenkins’ absence meant rookie linebacker Neville Hewitt joined fellow undrafted rookie Zach Vigil and veteran Kelvin Sheppard as the starting trio. “I’ll take my hat off to Ryan”.
Campbell said the Dolphins haven’t considered sitting Tannehill for the Patriots game.
“He’s a tough kid, and if he can go, he’s going to go”, Campbell said.
It probably won’t get fixed before Sunday, when the Dolphins close out their season against AFC East champion New England. “My gut tells me he should be ready to go, but we’ll see what he looks like Wednesday”.
