Comparing the release to similar surveillance revelations from NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, WikiLeaks said part one of the Vault 7 documents “already eclipses the total number of pages published over the first three years of the Edward Snowden NSA leaks”.
WikiLeaks said that it would only publish a portion of the archive “until a consensus emerges on the technical and political nature of the CIA’s program”.
WikiLeaks has said it obtained the trove of documents from one of the former United States government hackers and contractors among whom the files had circulated in an unauthorized manner. It alleges that CIA infested and collected intelligence through smart TVs, and phone.
