The eagle was found near Widewater in May with a broken talon and several superficial foot lacerations. In the list of year 2015, the female eagle was the 642nd patient.
The center has planned to release one eagle on Wednesday morning at Widewater State Park in Stafford County and the other on Thursday at 3:00 p.m.at the Chippokes Plantation State Park in Surry County.
The Wildlife Center of Virginia will release two rehabilitated bald eagles this week in Stafford and Surry counties.
People can see the releases that too free of cost.
The juvenile male came to the Wildlife Center June 19 after being found grounded in Windsor.
When he was transported to the center for care, veterinary staff found the eagle had a head tremor and lacked muscle coordination. The eagles subsequently lost their habitats, became affected by hunting activities and suffered from pesticide use, among many others, resulting in the decline of its populations in the US. The eagle spent the last months regaining its strength at the Center in Waynesboro.
The Wildlife Center has treated many bald eagles since it was founded in 1982, and is now working with 11, including the two who are about to be released. The center works to help the species restore function and health in such a way that it can be returned to the wild.
