Will Brooks Claims Patricio Freire Attacked Him In Hotel, ‘Pitbull’ Denies
“Pitbull brothers showed me what cowards they are”, Brooks wrote. And I’m defenseless by myself with them and all their translators. f***ing cowards jump me while I’m on the phone with my mom… Like I said, if you beat me up, you punch me in the face, you’re kicking me and beating me up, and you double leg me, take me down, and you’re flat out beating me up and then you snatch this technique and then you beat me with a kneebar. I think when you have teammates on the same card who are competing for pretty much the same thing – I’m defending my title and he’s trying to get his title back – it’s just an exciting thing. Brooks also posted a picture of a bloody t-shirt, but later deleted the tweet. Brooks, however, indicated that someone in his camp apparently has video footage of the incident, and that he intends to make said footage available after authorities have had a chance to review it.
Freire turned the tables on Brooks and claims he and his brother were the ones who were attacked by Brooks.
Patricio Freire has come out and given his side of the story, corroborating Jonathan Snowden’s account.
Freire denied the accusations on Twitter, calling Brooks a “liar” and said that Brooks hit Patricky first. We were separated. Then he came again, I knocked him down.
‘@PatricioPitbull and I’m not talking MMA shit.
“I think he’s a very talented guy as far as jiu-jitsu goes in leg locks and knee bars, but overall, I don’t see him being a real threat to me in any other aspect”.
Brooks recently spoke with MMAmania.com about facing Held in the Bellator 145 co-main event and how excited he is that American Top Team (ATT) teammate and friend, Daniel Straus, challenges Patricio Freire for the Featherweight title in the main event.
Bellator official later revealed they are now looking to obtain surveillance footage of the allege altercation in order to figure out what actually happened. “We have no further comment”.
The entire incident took place in a hotel in St. Louis, the host city of Bellator 145 this weekend.
