Will Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them be on Netflix?
This year already brought the stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which picks up when Harry is an adult, and now Rowling’s world expands even further with the spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. If you get really bored during the first half, which is only possible if you don’t like J. K. Rowling’s world of magic at all, don’t think of skipping the second because that’s when it really picks up pace.

As the wizard and “magizoologist” Newt Scamander, Eddie Redmayne is in his element. Magic is treated differently in the USA than in England.
Ever since the release of Avatar, we were overdue for a conservationist movie for the masses.
Will you be seeing Fantastic Beasts in the theater?
“Fantastic Beasts” is a bit like Harry Potter meets “Ghostbusters”, dressed in clothes from “Boardwalk Empire”. I wanted every single toy! The film has a hard task of rethinking a hugely loved and nostalgic world in a context that is broadly unfamiliar – the setting, the ages of the characters and even the language is different.
In Fantastic Beasts, Eddie Redmayne stars as Newt Scamander, a magizoologist (a person who studies magical creatures) who comes to NY with a case full of creatures that would be unrecognizable to the average person.
Newt is a loveable, quirky wizard who has a love for all critters. But for now, his creatures are causing all sorts of problems. Somehow, we’re guessing it’s not as major as the litany of fantastic beasts hiding out in there.
With some it’s questionable whether they should carry on, while others show glimpses of potential.
Fantastic Beasts is an exciting venture because it’s a whole new perspective on a world once relegated to London and Hogwarts.
I was also sad because there was no Harry Potter or Ron Weasley or Dumbledore. But the group we’ve come up with have a lot of screen time together and are sectioned off from the rest of the characters in their respected stories. It takes place decades before the Harry Potter series, but features many recognizable details: wands, spells and references to various characters.
One of the things I like best about Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is that it’s not a Harry Potter re-tread.
