Will Ferrell-Themed Bar Urges New Yorkers to ‘Stay Classy’
Located in New York City’s Lower East Side (174 Rivington Street), Stay Classy crashes the neighborhood’s bar scene in Catalina Wine Mixer fashion with a blend of Anchorman, Get Hard and everything in between. That’s right, the same place that houses so many iconic landmarks just got culturally richer, boasting a watering hole dedicated to American treasure Will Ferrell.
Neil told that he and Link are happy to risk their money on their Ferrell-focused venture, saying “We said we might as well do something that we think is funny and represents what we love [sic] that way if we lose we can still laugh about it”.
“I’d rather it be like a Tuesday night and it’s dead in here and he just walks through the door”, he tells the TV station.
That’s the kind of insane scenario that would have anyone sit back and proclaim, “Well, that escalated quickly”.
But let’s say you already have plans. “You can also leave a shot for a friend to redeem at a later date”.
Frankly, there are a few missed opportunities at Stay Classy New York – namely that there’s no Orange Mocha Frappuccino on the menu, the entire bar isn’t a huge, glass case of emotion, and the toilet doesn’t double as a store.
The bar is presently open for previews until October 25. The event will be an Anchorman-themed Halloween party, offering guests who dress up as Ron Burgundy or other characters from the film a free drink and cash prizes.
