Will Kanye West and Taylor Swift’s feud take center stage — MTV VMAs
The VMAs, which first aired on MTV in 1984, return to NY for the first time since 2013. Sources told the website that producers are giving West four minutes to do as he sees fit ― which could mean anything.
MTV seems fully committed to West at this year’s ceremony, especially since Taylor Swift is supposedly not going to be at the ceremony.
Swift, whose last album dropped in November 2014, was not nominated for any awards this time around.
Their song, “Closer”, earned a number 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, so this performance will not be one you’d want to miss!
But first things first, the preshow: Things will get started when record producer and social media superstar DJ Khaled co-hosts the preliminary ceremony alongside MTV2’s Charlamagne Tha God and MTV’s Wonderland host Lizzo.
Michael Tran/FilmMagicIf you were hoping for a steel cage death match between Taylor Swift and Kanye West at this Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards, you’re out of luck: Taylor’s not coming.
They join a bill that also includes performances by Vanguard Award Winner Rihanna, Britney Spears & G-Eazy, Nick Jonas & Ty Dolla $ign, Future, and Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj. It’s been a big year for The Chainsmokers. One of the biggest Hiddleswift conspiracies out there, though, is that her relationship with Tom Hiddleston has been for the sole objective of a music video. A precedent has been set, and the VMAs are possibly the most logical time for her to meet it.
Watch the madness unfold when the 2016 VMAs air on MTV this Sunday at 9 p.m. ET.
