Will Rubio’s Latest Endorsement Help Him Win South Carolina?

Republican South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley was expected to announce her endorsement of Sen. “I’ve started doing TV interviews, remote TV interviews, where I can just stare at a camera, you know, a blind camera”.

Haley is the South Carolina-born daughter of Indian immigrants and, at 44, the nation’s youngest governor.

Trump has attacked Cruz because of ads that slammed Trump as a NY liberal rather than a traditional conservative who holds traditional values.

Cruz is attempting to exploit a new issue – the fate of the Supreme Court vacancy left behind by the sudden passing of conservative Justice Antonin Scalia – to make gains in advance of this weekend’s South Carolina Republican primary. He leads by double digits in opinion polls, and surveys show many of his supporters object to Ms Haley’s removal of the Confederate flag from the state capitol grounds. The Civil War-era emblem of the Confederate South is long associated with slavery. “Trust me, she’s a great person”.

Haley, who delivered the Republican response to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address last month, has one of the highest approval ratings of any us governor.

Bush on Wednesday said her decision left him “disappointed”. Although her endorsement of Mitt Romney in 2012 did not help him to secure a victory in South Carolina, Haley has risen significantly in stature since then.

However, the Cruz campaign says that since the video is composed of words coming out of Trump’s own mouth, a case brought to court would be sanctioned for being frivolous. “Even in the annals of frivolous lawsuits, this takes the cake”.

And in hypothetical head-to-head matchups, Trump also declined.

“He is a liar and these ads and statements made by Cruz are clearly desperate moves by a guy who is tanking in the polls – watching his campaign go up in flames finally explains Cruz’s logo”, Trump said, in a reference to the flame included in Cruz’s campaign logo.
