Will Smith returns to rap with Colombian group
Smith partnered with Colombian group Bomba Estéreo on a remix of their song, “Fiesta”. Styled to look like a ninja outfitted by Yeezus, Smith is all brooding, walking down long hallways like it’s a comedy central special, before throwing back his hood and announcing his presence with a few aggressive rap styles.
The rapper-turned-actor shows up cloaked, like something out of I Am Legend, while Bomba’s Liliana Saumet leaves her throne to join Smith at the center upon his arrival.
According to The Guardian, Smith stumbled upon the Latin, tropical and electronic act on a recent trip to Colombia.
Bomba Estéreo member Simon Mejia said about the track: “When I was told that Will Smith wanted to collaborate on a remix with Bomba, I couldn’t believe it”. “I’ll be surrounded by so many talented artists whose music has such profound global impact”. The popular tune is nominated for record of year at the event that takes place November 19 in Las Vegas, Nev. Smith will next be seen on the big screen in Sony’s Concussion on Christmas Day.
