Will take on BJP-Congress-CPI-M in 2016: Mamata Banerjee
Mamata said that all the opposition parties are busy in name calling and are devoid of any ideology.
Singing the “ekla chalo re (walk alone)” tune, while addressing the party’s Martyr’s Day rally outside Victoria House in Dharamtala, Ms Banerjee called upon the party workers not to give an inch to the Opposition. “People in Bengal will never pardon them”, she said. They only resort to spreading canards against us. “Ours is “Beti Bachao”, their scheme is ‘Beti Hatao” not bachao”, she said. “We want to remain as a people’s party”, Banerjee said. “BJP-Congress-CPI-M… you are shame, shame”, she told her supporters. We will not bow down to anyone. “We are a part of the poor and want to stay that way”, she said.
TMC leader Sudip Bandopadhayay said there would not force like the Left after the next years election in 2016 and he would not be surprised if TMC bags more than 250 seats in the state Assembly. Right it down: in 2016, we will break all previous records and will register a landslide victory.
Claiming that CPI-M had done nothing for the state during its 34-year rule. BJP-Congress-CPI-M. they are in an unethical alliance. “Those who don’t have ideology and morality spread the poison of communalism”.
If you do not find Didi in Nabanna [state secretariat], then make sure that she is in some room in the South Block of New Delhi, said Bandopadhayay hinting that Mamata Banerjee would continue to remain the chief minister and if at all she quits she will be ruling from Delhi. “Be prepared now”.
“Party members should start preparing for the polls and serve people better”, she said.
Attacking the Narendra Modi government for slashing funds for Central schemes in the state, Banerjee said her party will not bow its head before BJP and will launch movement against it.
“Our fight has not ended”.
The Centre, according to her, has slashed funds for Central schemes in the State. We will stand by the farmers, the youth, the students, the mothers and fight for them. In 2016, TMC will fight alone but with dignity. We are not scared of their red eyes and we are not afraid of your agencies. She said people who indulge in riots have no place in politics. Mamata Banerjee was referring to the UNESCO awards to Nadia (first), Burdwan (second) and Hooghly (third) districts for stopping open defecation practices and introducing the use of toilets.
She said “it was more of a Beti Ghatao campaign by the Centre”. They have allotted only “100 crore”. What will they do with rest Rs 50 crore?
She said the Kanyashree scheme of the state government for girls is a model before the world.
