Will the next iPhone be waterproof?

Of course, just because the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are going to be much hotter than people assume doesn’t mean we’re happy Apple is recycling the same basic hardware design for another year.

While the iPhone 6S has quite good water resistance capabilities, the new iPhone 7 is expected to be completely waterproof. Apparently Apple has been talking about including an iris scanner in one of its iPhones for some time now.

iPhone 7 beta testers have shared screenshots of a warning message that pops up when water is detected within the phone, directing iPhone owners to avoid connecting the device to a lightning cable. So we may have to wait until 2017 for Apple to finally catch up with its rivals and offer a more modern way to top up their batteries.
