William and Harry to appear in special episode of DIY SOS
Britain’s Prince Harry smiles as he prepares to lay paving slabs as he helps to renovate homes for ex-service personnel as part of the BBC television DIY SOS series on September 23, 2015.
During their visit, the Duke and Prince Harry will also meet the street’s existing residents.
They hope to draw attention to the continued challenges facing service personnel who make the transition to civilian life & who’re additionally lending a helping hand.
The Duke of Cambridge showed off his painting skills and gave a fresh lick of paint to a kitchen in one of the properties.
In the end, in addition to housing, the project will provide a center with space for counselling and therapy, which will be run by Walking With The Wounded.
William and Harry’s bitter feud has nothing to do with the succession to the throne, nor is about a woman or even money – there’s something much more serious driving these brothers apart… rugby.
“It was cracking. I found William very talkative”.
Mr Manneh, a father of five children, had never been able to read his children a bedtime story because of his difficulties in getting upstairs.
The 47-year-old, who served with 2nd Battalion The Royal Irish Rangers, said he would not be washing his hands after shaking the duke’s hand twicet.
Liam Manton, from Wates Living Space, which has given a £20,000 grant to a support-centre being built on the site, said: “It was great to see Princes William and Harry working on site with the team”.
He said: “He thanked me and said well done”.
They also took time out from their work to speak with ex-army veterans who will be moving into the houses.
The project has enabled him to get a specially-adapted home and he told Harry and William of the “opportunities” that it would bring for himself and his family.
