They were headed to the provincial Parliament buildings in Victoria for a formal welcoming ceremony.
The royal family arrived Saturday to Victoria, British Columbia.
Thousands of people were there to greet the royal couple.
New research carried out by Ipsos to coincide with the royal tour found that 58% of Canadians believe the constitutional monarchy helps to define Canada’s identity, with 70% thinking that William and Kate will help to keep the monarchy relevant to Canadians.

At Haida Gwaii, on the province’s northern coast, the royal couple will go on a sea-going canoe trip from historic Skidegate Landing to the Haida Heritage Centre and Museum.
In 2014 the duke and duchess took George to a zoo in in Sydney, Australia.
The couple have previously hinted they were keen to take three-year-old George and one-and-a-half-year-old Charlotte to as many Commonwealth regions as possible before they start school.
Huge crowds had turned out at the harbour side to catch a glimpse of the British royals despite the drizzly weather, and both William and Kate were clearly touched by the warm welcome they received as they emerged from the aircraft.
