Wilshere blow for Arsenal
Just as Arsenal fans started to believe that nothing could go wrong for their club ahead of the new season, the Daily Mail reports that midfield ace Jack Wilshire could face a lengthy period on the sidelines due to injury.
Wilshere sustained the injury in training on Saturday, but Arsenal were said to be initially confident that he would be fit again by the end of the next global break at the start of September.
England worldwide Wilshere missed the Gunners’ COmmunity Shield victory over Chelsea after he picked up a knock in the days leading up to the game.
However, the injury is understood to be much worse than feared with scan results on Friday expected to confirm the fracture.
This is just the latest in a long line of injury woes the England global has suffered, having only just returned from ankle ligament damage in May following a challenge by Man United’s Paddy McNair back in November. Based on that, the medical team will decide if he has to undergo a surgery or not.
However, if they decide against doing a surgery, Arsenal star will be out of action for six to eight weeks. Roy Hodgson will not be able to call upon Wilshere for the Three Lions’ matches next month.
