Wilson says he’d consider playing football and baseball in Seattle
When asked about the contract negotiations, Wilson said he’s trying to not worry about it too much.
Compounding the problem is that Wilson has been readily available to the media, doing radio interviews and speaking at his various passing camps and sitting down with ESPN and appearing on Jimmy Kimmel’s show.
Larry Stone of the Seattle Times writes that “Wilson’s image is absorbing some serious puncture wounds” amid the increasing focus on his contractual expectations. Top-paid quarterbacks include Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers) at $22 million; Ben Roethlisberger (Pittsburgh Steelers) at $21.85 million; Cam Newton (Carolina Panthers) at $20.76 million; Matt Ryan (Atlanta Falcons) at $20.75 million; and Joe Flacco (Baltimore Ravens) at $20.1 million.
“You never want to kill the dream of playing two sports”.
As for Seattle’s football team, Wilson’s current employer, Kimmel pointed out that, “You have made enough money for [the Seahawks]”. “I think it’s OK for them to pay you”.
The football player added: “Ultimately, it comes down to the play”. Could they get around having to make him the highest-paid National Football League player by dangling the opportunity to pursue a baseball career – with conditions – in front of him?
“I just want to be paid based off my play”, he said. “We’ll figure it out”.
Baseball remains in the picture for Seahawks QB Russell Wilson.
He even said he’d “definitely consider” it if he were to get an offer from the Mariners.
Ciara posted a photo of herself on Instagram with Russell Wilson during their red carpet appearance at the 2015 BET Awards, publicly displaying their love to fans.
