Wilson staying at United, says Wolves boss
Despite strong rumours linking him with a loan exit, Manchester United striker James Wilson looks set to stay at Old Trafford.
Earlier this week, Wolves boss Kenny Jackett and chief executive Jez Moxey defended the club’s decision regarding a number of matters that arose during the transfer window, but it is only during the next couple of months when their judgement calls will be proven right or wrong.
But Jackett said: “The information is he’s not available”.
“The timing of it is always something and if he was available would there be some interest from us?” Let us know your thoughts below! His general impact was minimal, only creating one chance.
Wilson was in and out of United’s side last season scoring three goals in 14 appearances leading to his want for regular playing time, and our Championship fans here in the Transfer Tavern think he’d be a fantastic acquisition for any team outside the Premier League.
However, the England youth international is unavailable at the moment, meaning that Jackett may be forced to go with the players that he currently has at his disposal.
The club’s supporters are still reeling from the sale of long-serving defender Richard Stearman and a lack of a replacement for the injury-stricken Nouha Dicko, and tensions could rise should Wolves not deliver a positive result this weekend.
The striker could miss the rest of the season after tearing his cruciate ligament, and if Enobakhare is required to step into the starting line-up to replace him, then he will have big boots to fill.
