Wind Advisory In Effect Through 1 PM Today
Sustained winds will be between 20 to 30 miles per hour and could gust to near 40 and even 50 miles per hour. Expect winds to increase this afternoon also, gusting to 45-55 along the beaches, 25-30 in town. High winds candown trees, damage property and cause fairly widespread power outages.
Strong winds are expected to pick up Sunday, with San Diego County mountains and deserts warned to brace for potentially damaging gusts overnight and into Monday.
Forecasters said the strong winds would continue past sunrise but gradually weaken later Monday morning.
A Pacific storm was expected to move through the Great Basin and then the Four Corners region today.
Along the Interstate 90 corridor from Deer Lodge to Butte, the highest winds are expected to happen between 2 and 6 a.m.
