Windows 10 Mobile delayed until 2016 for Windows Phone 8.1 users
And while the nerdy ones get overjoyed in this, we usual ones have a rather saddening piece of news – Windows 10 free upgrade will only come next year – a clear break of MS’s earlier promise. Microsoft originally promised to release Windows 10 Mobile to older Lumia handsets by the end of the year. Unfortunately, Microsoft has not released a changelog to detail the improvements and enhancements, but this should arrive soon.
Microsoft’s Windows 10 Mobile platform for existing Windows Phone users will now not be released until 2016, it has emerged, as the firm pushed out a new Cumulative Update to testers on the Windows Insider preview programme.
The Windows 10 update comes bundled with an improved Action Center and a powerful Microsoft Edge browser, along with tweaks to universal apps like Maps, Calendar and Photos.
The latest video follows Windows’ $10 million commitment to the Upgrade Your World campaign, which supports 50 charities around the world.

Those on the Windows Insider program have no such problems – they’ll continue to have the chance to install Windows 10 on their mobile devices. The company has already delivered the first update for the new OS by bypassing the carriers.
Microsoft has slowly been releasing new features of Windows 10 over the past few weeks. In November, Windows and Devices Chief Terry Meyerson said Microsoft would begin sharing more information on what’s in its Windows 10 updates in November.
This is another Cumulative Update, which means that it’s primarily focused on patching bugs that’ve been found in the previous version. I’ve asked again today to see if there’s anything more officials will say.
