Windows 10 Mobile update timeline for older Lumia handsets leaked, rollout to
The Microsoft Lumia 950 XL flaunts a 5.7-inch with QHD AMOLED display with glance screen just like the 950 device.
There were several reports in the past claiming that the Windows 10 update for older Lumia models would commence in December 2015.
Back in October an official Microsoft Facebook post said that wide availability of Windows 10 Mobile would start to roll out in December.
You’re hardly going to lug your laptop around the backstreets of Rome but it’s a useful feature to know about, and we assume it’s going to make its way Windows 10 Mobile and other phones eventually (in the meantime, there’s still the dedicated Microsoft Translator apps). Fortunately, actual update dates have now been reported. Why not this Friday, or next, next Friday, or why even Friday at all?For starters AT&T did state that the phone will be released in November so pretty much any day this month is a valid one. That’s when Orange Poland will be pushing the update to the Lumia 630, 635, 735, 830, and Lumia 640. The next phase of the rollout will include the Lumia 520, 532, 625, 720, 820, 920, 925, 930, 1020, and 1320, but there will be a longer wait for these phones as this is scheduled to begin on February 1, 2016.
Interestingly enough, there was no mention of the Lumia 1520 receiving the update. This might be because the handset was sold in Poland as an unlocked device, thus no carrier involvement in the update.
Bear in mind that if the dates turn out to be true, they only apply to the Lumias being offered by Orange in Poland.
Windows Central has said that the Lumia 950 will be released by AT&T.
THE FIRST SMARTPHONES to ship running Windows 10 Mobile, the Lumia 950 and 950 XL, will drop onto shelves next week.
