Windows 10 Start menu solutions pop up from Stardock and Classic Shell
The good news is that if you’ve upgraded to Windows 10 but are sorely missing the Start Menu from Windows 7, Stardock has your back.
Windows 10 has brought back a Start menu, but the focus is heavily on apps, which are preloaded, pre-organized and viewed as tiles rather than in the simple list of programs in Windows 7. Whatever the case may be, the current Start Menu is here to stay, and if you want to slap it away and bring back the classic option back, then you have Start10 to fulfill your needs.
It’s supposed to make it simple to get around the operating system.
Start10 reflects Stardock’s belief for where it thought the Windows 10 Start menu would go, says CEO Brad Wardell.
Microsoft hasn’t yet commented on this request, but given the fact that it’s no big deal to create such features, expect them to be added soon, also thanks to the fact that so many insiders voted for them.
Still, Wardell says, at least it includes the Start menu at all. Stardock, a company known for its Windows-skinning software, might just have the tool for you…
For those looking for a free alternative, there’s also the old Classic Shell that helped Windows 8 users through the original Start menu-less dystopia.
“If you use Windows 8, Windows 10 is a no-brainer”, Wardell says.
As with previous offerings, the software will not break the bank, but it does cost $4.99 for a lifetime license.
