Windows 10 subscriptions really are coming … for Enterprise
The renaming of its Windows 10 Enterprise operating system has been announced by the company last week. There will also be an E5 bundle with Windows 10 Enterprise E5, Office 365 E5, and Enterprise Mobility + Security E5 (including Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection). Microsoft had partnered with Dell and HP to sell Surface hardware via commercial sales organizations a year ago and today they announced two more associations with IBM and Booz Allen Hamilton who will take on the role of Surface Solution Integrators. Instead, a company pays per month for each seat. The device provides new ways for users to present, exchange, share and manipulate data from the Azure cloud, said Hayete Gallot, general manager at Microsoft Devices.
Moreover, Microsoft has done the same for Windows 10 Enterprise Edition, allowing channel partners to sell Windows 10 subscriptions at $7 (£5.30) per person per month via the Cloud Solution Provider channel.
“A transformation like that requires Surface devices that are not only highly portable, powerful and versatile, but bring the industry the leading security and productivity capabilities of Windows 10”.
Microsoft has announced plans to open up Windows 10 Enterprise and make it more manageable and affordable for smaller buisnesses.
Through this offering, Microsoft’s partners with assist companies to configure and manage their devices.
Microsoft is holding its annual Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto this week.
Late previous year, Microsoft signed a Surface resale deal with Dell, setting the tone.
The IBM custom software will take advantage of unique Surface features, Microsoft said.
“Users who don’t want to buy Windows 10 Enterprise as a subscription will still be able to get Windows 10 Enterprise E3 on a per device basis through Microsoft’s regular licensing programs”, adds the report. Now they have included more partners like Booz Allen Hamilton and IBM which will assist the makers to improve their customer base.
Microsoft has pushed the Windows 10 free upgrade deal with an nearly single-minded determination, ignoring all the complaints and even lawsuits in an attempt to get everyone possible on the latest version of its operating system.
IBM has in part pegged its future on analytics, swallowing up a slew of companies in recent years, while simultaneously offloading its client device and low-end server businesses to Lenovo. Redmond says that similar benefits can be achieved over on the hardware front with the new Surface Pro purchase program that was announced in conjunction, which is the other major highlight of today’s conference.
