Winter storm expected Thanksgiving Day
Snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are expected in most valleys with higher amounts in the mountains. Wind chills will drop to the single digits above and below zero tonight and Wednesday.
Dry weather is forecast for Northern California on Thanksgiving, but between now and then, watch out.
The National Weather Service in Rapid City issued a Winter Storm Warning for southern Campbell County early Wednesday morning.

Snow levels could plunge down to the 1000 ft level mark while freezing rain and icy roads are expected in southeastern Washington and northern Oregon. By the evening commute, the wet weather will wrap up with some showers lingering into the night.
In addition to rain and snow, a swath of freezing rain may result in the first sizeable ice storm of the season in the Lower 48 states.
The front will eventually make its way south towards Missoula during the afternoon where the potential for a flash freeze exists across western and southwest Montana. Wind gusts up to 100 miles per hour over mountain ridgetops were possible.
The storm should pass by Wednesday though, and Thanksgiving holiday drivers can expect pretty clear driving from Wednesday afternoon through the weekend.
Sat/Sun: The Rex Block Ridge will remain in place Saturday with the high pressure cell over Wrn Canada and low pressure cell over CA/NV.
Record low temperatures could even be set in some of the aforementioned areas. Parts of the High Plains from Texas to Nebraska will get ice and snow with several inches of snow possible.
