Winter Storm Watch issued for Hamilton
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect at pass levels overnight for snow covered and slick roads.
The highest snow totals will be south of a line from Darlington to Madison to Milwaukee and the lowest to the north of that line, with about 4 inches expected in Madison, according to forecasters. Far northern parts of both counties could receive more than six inches, officials said.
Motorists are one again being told to slow down as visibility may be reduced at times in heavy snow and poor weather conditions.
“We could see some rain, snow mixing for the morning portion of your Tuesday and then this will be the significant system that will move in”.
Environment Canada says a number of cities across the province set new high-water marks Sunday for the warmest February 28s ever recorded.
Clouds will be increasing as we head into the evening hours ahead of a cold front which will bring mountain snow, a wintry mix to the valleys, cooler temperatures and gusty winds. The direction of the storm is still being tracked, but it looks like Hamilton might get around 15 cm of snow. For meteorological winter, Madison has received 20.3 inches, 16.7 inches below normal.
