Winter Weather Advisory for start of the week
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the entire region for overnight Monday until 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The Tuesday morning commute will be treacherous. The wintry conditions are expected to end by mid-morning. “Less than an inch of snow can be expected at the coastline with anywhere from 1-3” further inland.
Hydrologist Brian Hahn said the weather service is predicting up to a 1 inch on Monday for Milwaukee.
A Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect at 8PM tonight and snow will likely move in close to midnight. The storms and flooding in Missouri and IL were the latest in a succession of severe weather events across the country that have led to at least 43 deaths in less than a week. Send out the plows.
Salt routes are the main arterials and main connector streets along with streets on Madison Metro routes, and streets around schools and hospitals.
“We’ll have continued above-normal temperatures through the middle of the week”, Thomas said.
Staff will monitor the snow accumulation to determine if a snow emergency is required.
Considerably more snow could fall north and west. The timing of this warm air will greatly determine the amount of snow and ice accumulation there will be. Wind gusts could reach 33 miles per hour.
Thursday will be mostly cloudy with 60 percent chance of showers during the day and a 30 percent chance at night.
Framingham is under a Winter Weather Advisory from 8 p.m. Monday night until 7 p.m. Tuesday night and we will see some accumulating snow with this weather system. Tuesday’s outlook calls for a meltdown with rain, more gusty winds and highs in the 40s. At least for the early part of the week.
