WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY issued for the northern Ozarks
The Friday morning rush hour is expected to be impacted, with moderate to perhaps briefly heavy snow falling.
In the Metro East, IDOT reports a few spots of re-freeze, and is encouraging drivers to be aware of those slick areas especially on highway on and off ramps. Light snow is expected to continue overnight and it should end before daybreak on Friday. While the Charlotte area is expected to get 2-4 inches, further south toward Monroe and Wadesboro snow totals could reach 4 to 6 inches.

Temperatures Friday evening will be in the low to mid-30s, dipping into the upper 20s by Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service. As of press time Monday night, it appeared that a heavier band of snow could travel through St. Francois County.
The technical part of the forecast said that the snow-precipitation ratio would be greater than 10 (snow) to 1 (rain). Cloudy, with a high near 32.
The North American Model (NAM), for example, shows the system arriving earlier Friday evening, when temperatures are still above freezing, and moving out early Saturday.
