Winter weather possible for Central Georgia
Randolph, Clay, Lawrence, Greene, Craighead, Poinsett, Mississippi, Dunklin, Pemiscot, Lake, Obion, Weakley, Henry, Dyer, Gibson, Carroll, Benton, Lauderdale, Tipton, Haywood, Crockett, Madison, Chester, Henderson, Decatur and Hardin Counties are also under a Winter Weather Advisory.
The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has updated a winter weather advisory across the region.
Snow accumulation…3 to 6 inches. Temperatures especially west of highway 17 will be at or slightly below freezing. The low Wednesday night was forecast to drop to 33 – teetering on that freezing/not freezing borderline the NWS noted.
A morning high of 40 degrees is expected Friday, with temperatures falling to 26 degrees Friday night.
A slight chance of freezing rain and sleet is predicted for Marietta this morning followed by possible rain and snow after noon, according to the National Weather Service.
Another 13 counties will be under a Winter Storm Watch from Thursday evening to Friday morning.
Friday is when our best chance for snow arrives.
The Ozarks should get a break on Sunday, with sunny skies and a high of 48 in the forecast.
Snow, sleet, and black ice will likely result in hazardous driving conditions.
