Wireless, landline phone outages reported in Southeast
Several major wireless carriers experienced outages across Tennessee, Kentucky and other southern states on Tuesday afternoon.
Update: Trevor Thomas of Verizon confirms the disruption and says they are working to restore service, but can’t confirm how many customers are affected.
A Verizon representative said the company is working with an unnamed vendor on “a connectivity issue” affecting service in parts of Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky and Indiana. Crews were already investigating and hoped to discover the cause quickly. We apologize for any inconvenience. Our engineers are working to resolve quickly. However, there’s no estimated time of resolution yet.
Phone carriers say a few customers in the Southeast are experiencing outages with wireless and wired service. The Nashville Metropolitan area and the surrounding counties were among the worst affected.

The website reports over 10,000 AT&T, 1000 Verizon, 7,000 T-Mobile, 300 Sprint, 250 U.S. Cellular and 75 Cricket Wireless outages.
