Wisconsin Officials Say Recount Isn’t Expected to Change Election Results
Looming soon is a federal deadline for any dispute involving presidential election results to be settled within 35 days of Election Day – this year, that’s December 13 – so the Electoral College can meet before the holidays to formally elect the next president.
Unlike in Wisconsin, Stein can’t directly file for a recount effort in Pennsylvania.
Hillary Clinton and Jill Stein have both said it has nothing to do with changing the results of the election and everything to do with protecting your vote.
One way for a recount to go forward in Pennsylvania is for Stein and her supporters to present evidence of probably election fraud, something Secretary of State Pedro Cortez rejects even though the state uses voting machines with no paper backup.
Juno said they will have to find a venue to do the recall and she needs volunteers to help and she also asks people if they can wait on going to the county clerk’s office to file licenses or permits that would help because the office will be extremely short staffed and warns that waits will be long.
He strongly defended the vote count.
“I do think that’s an issue of concern, the fact that there’s a concern that so many voted who were not legally supposed to”, Miller said. Coleman was ahead by 215 votes before the recount, which was automatic because of the tight margin.
Stein has ordered that the recount in Wisconsin be done completely by hand. But he cast doubt on it ever reaching the level of the 2000 recount. “The likelihood of an appeal is certainly different from the context of that case”.
We’ve been taking your questions on Facebook all day and the first big one: Will the recount change the results of the presidential election? He made the baseless charge in response to a recount effort led by the Green Party and joined by Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Instead, Republican Donald Trump won all three and with them the electoral votes needed to win the White House.
Trump’s transition team did not provide any evidence to back up the president-elect’s assertions of fraud in the November election. I’m sure you know this by now, but Trump really doesn’t give a shit about being fair or playing by the rules.
A spokeswoman said the department is now working to get that information.
Trump spokesman Jason Miller said Monday that a recount is a waste of time, calling it a fundraising “scam by Jill Stein in an election already conceded”. But because Donald Trump beat Clinton by more than 1 percent, no statewide recount is triggered. As deadlines loom in Pennsylvania and Michigan, Stein continued her push for battleground recounts on Monday. The second is through a voter-initiated effort. “This current system that needs to be democratized, that makes it very hard for us to vote and for us to have confidence in our votes because of these very hack-friendly electronic machines that we use and a whole variety of circumstances”.
Elections officials were adamant that a hack was all but impossible.
Suchanic said she had reached out to election officials at the polling place where they alleged this occurred, but she couldn’t confirm those reports.
