Without Joe Perry, Hollywood Vampires enthrall Fraze crowd
The show will go on for The Hollywood Vampires amid bandmember Joe Perry’s recent health scare while performing Sunday night.
Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp and the band performed at the Fraze Pavilion, where fans were offered refunds before show time due to the Aerosmith legend’s absence.
He was immediately transported to Coney Island Hospital and was later transferred to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital for an unspecified reason.
It is not clear who will sit in for Perry as the Hollywood Vampires continue their trek, but they have been touring with guitarist Tommy Henriksen, while Orianthi, Joe Walsh, and Robby Krieger appear on the band’s debut album. A tweet from Perry’s official account said, “Thanks to all of the fans reaching out and asking about Joe”.
The musician, 65, had taken to the stage Sunday at Coney Island with his group the Hollywood Vampires when he became sick and was rushed to the hospital.
Perry himself posted on Twitter just hours before being taken ill: “Warming up with Tommy”.
It was unclear Monday what caused Perry to collapse. “FDNY and NYPD carried him off quickly”, she added.
Aerosmith’s Joe Perry is seen in Boston, Massachusetts November 5, 2012, following a performance in neighboring Allston.
