Wizards G John Wall ready to put playoff loss behind him
That facility will help to serve an additional 100 children and their families, and is expected to open in 2017. They’ve made the playoffs two years in a row now, and even in 2013 the Wizards played near-.500 basketball once John Wall returned from his knee injury (they finished the month of April that year with a record of 6-2).
The Wizards guard reportedly made a $400,000 donation to the organization, which will go toward the opening of a second center in southeast D.C. The group serves children and families living in crisis shelters or transitional housing. John Wall and Bradley Beal had room to orchestrate the offense while Marcin Gortat became a threat diving towards the basket.
“So I just liked how they’re doing it. They’re giving parents an opportunity to clean themselves up, find a job and just giving those kids an opportunity to get an education and have a place to sleep and food to eat”.
“God gave me the ability and the talent to play basketball and do something I love”, said Wall.
It’s a message Wall delivered loud and clear when he took the time to help a young fan with cancer fulfill her dream of meeting pop star Nicki Minaj a year ago, developing a relationship with young Miyah Telemaque-Nelson that left the All-Star wracked with emotion after she passed last December, and it’s one that he continues to communicate through actions like his visit to Bright Beginnings. No questions asked, one of my favorite teammates on and off of the court.
“This morning, Washington Wizards point guard John Wall surprised our organization and BBI Executive Director Dr. Betty Jo Gaines with a generous donation of $400,000″.
At least Wall and Harper now know they have each other. But then you see the little kids. “But I think it’s more important and bigger to give back to the community and do certain things to show people you care”.
