Wladimir Klitschko vs Tyson Fury set for November 28
Klitschko’s K2 Promotions announced on Friday that the new date is November 28 (HBO).
The venue remains Dusseldorf’s Esprit Arena and the stadium is free on November 28 because Bundesliga 2 side Fortuna Dusseldorf are away that day.
The Ukrainian said: “My injury will heal quickly enough for me to enter the ring on November 28”.
Fury – who called Klitschko “boring” in July – had taken his seat at the event in London before he leaped over his table to grapple with someone dressed as Batman’s enemy The Joker.
Fury, 27, claimed Klitschko’s injury was fake and believed the defending champion was playing games or afraid to face him.
Klitschko (64-3, 54 KOs), who is from Ukraine, lives in southern Florida and is a major star in Germany.
However, the Englishman is now set to get his chance at Klitschko, and he poses a significant threat to the long-term champion, per Steve Bunce in the Independent.
Klitschko’s 18 consecutive successful title defenses are third most in heavyweight history behind Louis’ record of 25 and Larry Holmes’ 20.
Fury is Manchester’s undefeated fighter after 24 fights, and eighteen of his victories have come by way of a knockout.
