Wolfman Movie Reportedly Courting Dwayne Johnson
Per previous reporters by Celebrity Insider , Johnson would join Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe in new monster movies that would eventually form part of a shared universe – teaming classic characters like The Mummy, which is now lensing in the United Kingdom, and Frankenstein.
Rumors are swirling that Johnson is also being eyed for Universal’s upcoming “Wolf Man” reboot.
It feels like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is in everything these days; Central Intelligence comes out this month, Baywatch will be released in 2017, and everything from Rampage to a San Andreas sequel and DC Comics adaptation Shazam are on the horizon for the actor.
Johnson is now filming for “Fast and Furious 8”, “Jumanji” reboot and “Rampage”.
Johnson will produce the project with his Seven Bucks Productions partners Dany and Hiram Garcia.
Deadline reports that Sony Pictures has acquired the rights to the graphic novel Son of Shaolin, which is set to be published soon. The reboot is planned to open in theaters on March 30, 2018, so they may just have enough time to persuade him – with the help of a few monsters.
The script will be penned by “Skiptrace” screenplay writer Longino, who will also be executive producer of the project alongside Ryan Kalil. The other would be taken by The Invisible Man, reportedly with Johnny Depp.
