Wolverhampton Wanderers Is Up For Sale
The chairman and founder of a leading United Kingdom property developer is selling his 100% stake in Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club.
Morgan was allegedly urged to do so after being confronted at Deepdale when Wolves played Preston on Saturday.
Morgan bought the club from Sir Jack Hayward in 2007 for £10 on condition he invested £30m in it.
Wolves finished last season in seventh place and are now 16th with nine points from eight games this term.
The club has a rich history, winning the English league title in 1954, 1958 and 1959, lifting the FA Cup four times and also reaching the UEFA Cup final in 1972.
Kenny Jackett was surprised by the Wolves owner Steve Morgan’s decision to sell the club but not the way his side comprehensively overcame Fulham.
However, Wolves are keen to urge fans that nothing will change in regards to the players, coaching staff and management team as the club strive to find a new ideal replacement for Morgan, who has left a huge gap in the hierarchy of the club.
“He would like to thank everyone connected with the club for their support and backing over his tenure to date and, as always, wishes Wolves every success for the future”.
The day-to-day operations of the club will continue to be overseen by chief executive Jez Moxey and the current board.
“Steve will not be making any public comments in relation to this announcement.”
