Woman accused of killing child and father

A missing persons case Saturday turned into a homicide investigation as a Lakeland grandfather and his 6-year-old granddaughter were found murdered.

Mark Weekly and Meredith Jessie had been reported missing by family members Saturday, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Donna Wood said.

A 25-year-old woman in Florida has been accused of killing her young daughter and her own father – and then trying to cover it up after being inspired an episode of “Criminal Minds”, authorities said. She reportedly stated the pair had traveled to Georgia and she was left with instructions to sell her father’s possessions. “The question is: did she first witness the vicious murder of her grandfather?”

Cheyanne is the mother to Meredith Jessie and daughter to Mark Weekly, whose bodies were discovered stuffed in tote bags and hidden away in a shed belonging to Cheyanne’s landlord.
