Woman Attacked In West Belfast
“Might not be able to move or really turn my head but long runs the fox”. It is understood a fight broke out between a crowd of girls outside the takeaway after nearby pubs had closed. It said they had pulled up outside the takeaway in a vehicle and fled following the attack. The gang, who were armed with sewer rods, then started attacking people.
“I was looking for my friend to get out, she was on the floor and she was unconscious and the man was still beating her”.
Speaking to UTV from her home where she is recovering, Sinead explained what happened: “Me and my friend Chloe were in getting a kebab and then the man that was serving us was pointing outside saying there was a fight”.
The woman was punched and pushed into a window which smashed.
The extent of her injuries are not known.
“One of the boys was hitting her mate over the head with a pole, so she went to help her friend”.
She said there is still glass in her back, but she has been told that it should eventually work its way out.
“They were going to operate on her because there is glass in her back, but they decided they couldn’t because it was too deep and they could end up causing her more damage”.
Police have launched an investigation following the incident and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
AN 18-YEAR-OLD woman last night said she looked like “something out of The Exorcist” after being pushed through the window of a west Belfast kebab shop.
Pictures taken in the wake of the attack show the kebab shop was left covered in blood by the 2am attack which the PSNI are now investigating.
She was taken to hospital after a group men entered the restaurant and began attacking customers with sewer rods.
Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.
